Highlands Primary School is now able to offer provision for 2 year olds for those children who meet the government’s criteria (see www.gov.uk/free-early-education for details). The opening of Highlands Pre-school took place on 1st December 2014.
The children are based in a refurbished indoor and outdoor area within our current Foundation stage building. This has been carefully designed and resourced so that it meets the needs of children who are two years old.
We currently offer places to 20 children across two sessions. Children attend either morning sessions: 8.30am – 11.30am, or afternoon sessions: 12.15pm – 3.15pm term time only.
The provision is staffed with 2 x level 3 nursery nurses who have a good understanding of the children’s needs. An additional level 2 achievement support assistant is also based in the pre-school.
Anyone whose child is entitled to a two-year old place and is interested in their child attending Highlands Pre-School should call into the school’s main office in order to find out more information.
Visits to the pre-school are welcomed.
